Dishcloth design in crochet can be difficult, if you are going for a complicated style. There are plenty of patterns that allow for simplicity and basic crochet skills to get a great looking, functional product. They are very durable and long-lasting if you choose a good quality sports yarn. You can do them in one, or multiple color schemes. It’s all up to your imagination!
Here are the steps for making a crochet dishcloth:
1) Row 1: CH 35, SC in the 3rd CH from hook. (CH 1, skip a CH, SC in the next CH.) Repeat the steps in the bracket the length of the row. CH 1 and turn direction.
2) Row 2: SC in the first SC, (SC in the next SC, CH 1, then skip the next CH.) Repeat the steps in the brackets the length of the row. CH 1 then turn direction.
3) Repeat row 2 until you have a square. The key to it being uniform is being consistent with the rows. There should be 17 SC STs and 16 CH STs per row.
Secure the end and weave any extra yarn in so that it isn’t noticeable. They are now ready to use for kitchen, bath or general display.
